Order Status & Delivery Tracking
DMS DX Op-Center™ Order Status & Delivery Tracking is a web-based service that displays the status of every warehouse order and every delivery currently in process. It is updated constantly by new information from the DX System and updates from delivery drivers PDA’s. Since it is a web-based service, it can be accessed 24 x 7 by any authorized user with an Internet connection.
Overview
The process starts when an order is placed in the DX System from counter and call center sales staff or from DMS’ e-commerce Qwik-Order customers.
For each warehouse order and customer delivery, certain fields will be displayed on the Order Status Display. These include the Location, Date, Order Number, Customer Number and Customer Name, Date time stamps for Printing, Picking, Dispatching, Delivery, the Driver name, and the color-coded status of the delivery. Display columns show the date and time the order passed through the various tracking points. As orders are completed after delivery, they are moved off of the “active” display into a completed status that can be queried for details.
The Order Status and Tracking points are:
- Date and time the order was first printed
- Date and time the order was picked & verified
- Date and time the driver was dispatched to deliver the order
- Date and time the customer signed for the order **
- Date and time the driver returned from the delivery
** time is captured automatically by a handheld PDA signature capture device.

Display Status Alerts
The Picked, Dispatched, and Delivered columns will have user-defined alerts (i.e., 10 minutes for Picking from order Printing stage, etc.) to visually alert management that there is a problem with an order in one of these three warehouse & delivery stages. Once triggered, alerts will be active until the order reaches the next processing stage,
Delivery Process, with a Qwik-Track Handheld PDA Signature Capture Devices.
When the driver is ready to take the order out for delivery, the bar code on the invoice is scanned with either a handheld bar code scanner or the PDA device. The DX Op-Center web server updates the information immediately, enters the date and time, and shows that the order is out for delivery on the DX Op-Center Status Screen.
When the order is delivered, the customer signs on the electronic signature pad on the PDA. This signature becomes the legal proof of delivery and, if DMS Document Centersoftware is installed, the signature will be sent directly to it and automatically attached to the original PDF electronic copy of the invoice.
As the customer signs on the PDA electronic signature pad, the date and time are recorded as part of the signature capture. The Qwik-Track Status Screen is updated either in real-time by a PDA Wi-Fi connection or when the driver returns to the warehouse and re-enters the warehouse wireless network. The Qwik-Track Status Display is then updated with the date and time "Delivered" and changes the line color to represent that the order has been delivered.
Qwik-Track Benefits:
There are a many benefits offered by DX Op-Center including:
- Analysis of Ordering, Picking, Dispatching, and Delivery times
- Identify bottlenecks in four (4) important warehouse processes:
- Time it takes to pick & dispatch an order.
- Are slow deliveries due to problems with picking or did the order sit in dispatch too long?
- Respond instantly to a customer's inquiry about the status of a delivery
- If a customer calls asking about a delivery, the information will be instantly available on the DX Op-Center display. If a GPS-enabled PDA is used, customers can track their orders from the Qwik-Order B-2-B application. This can significantly reduce incoming calls from anxious customers to check their order status!
